It’s here!!!
I am soo excited!!!
It’s Thanksgiving … the day of family, friends, fun, feasting and frolic
Am so in love with this holiday of my husband’s homeland where we gather to eat, drink and be merry … Mm, sounds a lot like Christmas but it’s not cos there’s no gifting! Check out A Simple Holiday … and, the biggie, ALL WATCH FOOTBALL!!!
Uh huh! Hours upon hours of stop-start-stop-startreallyslowly footy. Apparently it’s all very exciting but I’m yet to experience that particular thrill
Anyhoo, we are heading to LP and JP’s divine home in New York – my sister and brother in-law – for the day …
… and we are in charge of the pies. Now this is actually a HUGE responsibility as Turkey Day is just not Thanksgiving without pie!
Tinerate, as I am such a gourmet chef (for those that don’t know, I have a meltdown if more than one burner is lit on the stovetop) AP – who really is a complete whiz in the kitchen – is cooking the pumpkin pie.
LP has the turkey sorted (which, BTW, is H-U-M-U-N-G-O-U-S but then I guess that’s okay cos everything is bigger in America ) and this year she is soaking it in a spicy brine for the first time ever! What this means is that the bird will be even more moist than normally and completely delicious
Anyhoo, in short … Just can’t wait. Happy Thanksgiving to all who are celebrating!
Till next time.
