A Simple Holiday

One of the simplest pleasures in life … well, apart from sunsets, sunrises, hanging with friends and family, swimming in aqua ocean waters, sand crunched between my toes when walking along the beach, wind in my hair, sun on my back, oh, and all the rest of the multitude of life’s joys that are just way too many to mention here … would have to be, in my little ole book, lying in bed listening to the rain falling.

Especially on a corrugated roof as we all have in Australia (okay … reluctantly admit that that’s a generalisation but it would have to be a good majority of us at any rate, wouldn’t it???)

Now you might be wondering just why I am off on this tangent today but bear with me – I do have a point in here somewhere :) You see I woke this morning, on the side of a mountain in Vermont, and whilst the torrential rain didn’t sound quite the same on shingles, it was still enough to convincingly coerce me into the holiday mood and  consequently all things Thanksgiving!

And that would be cos from where I sit right now, that’s the first holiday that’s coming up :)

Tinerate, I have to admit that I’m pretty excited about the holiday … I mean, this thing is bigger than Ben Hur and then there’s the added perk of no gifts. Uh huh. Nudding!!! No gift giving … no re-gifting …. :) … Which, if reading between the lines, all amounts to no pressure and absolutely no stress from hunting to find the perfect present (which we all know can most often be virtually impossible! :) )

Anyhoo, it is an amazing custom that celebrates the simplicity of not only the the family nucleus but also extends to include the beloved friends – who are close enough that they should be family – with the Friendsgiving.

A win win for all don’t you agree?

Till next time.
