Tony Up!

Yesterday was AP’s birthday so we took the opportunity to head off to the ocean for a couple of nights. Not that we needed to; it’s all very birds-singing relaxed on the side of the mountain but we decided we just felt like a bit of a sea-swept blow through :)

Now we all know that the ocean can mean many sun-happy times filled with days at the beach and hours cruising the water on the yacht :) so in keeping with the summer ambience, I am taking this quick trot to the coast as an excuse for highlighting all things seaside savvy!

More specifically, this time I am regaling the sophisticated side of the seaside! You know, the chi chi elegance that permeates from behind the storied walls of some of the finest real estate in the country. Take a meal at a home in the coastal town of Carmel for example, a charming dwelling on the California coast that has some of the most rugged granite coastline. But step away from the shore and the town is dripping with sophistication. A safe bet to say that most tables are dressed to the nines (even if it’s not adorned with the silver) and simply drop-dead gorgeous.

And, if ever in any doubt about just how well a tablescape at the sea can Tony Up, what about a really stylish tablescape on the Mediterranean somewhere … Mmm, maybe the Riveria (French or Italian Amalfi Coast, I’m not fussed) … Oo, or how about the millionaires billionaires squillionaires playground that would be Monaco? Now that would be the perfect setting for any table worth its salt to Tony Up don’t you think?

Take white linens, add a bit of twinkling crystal and finish with heavenly plush cushioned seating that begs for one to settle in for the loong lunch … D-I-V-I-N-E!!! What with billionaires boats (just made an executive decision that the squillionaires would have jets :) ) resting in aqua blue waters as the backdrop, how could this table be less than exquisite?

Sigh … simply all swoon-worthy-sunny-coastline stunning. Yes please :)

Till next time.
