Seaside Sparkle

Okay, you don’t have to remind me!  I do know it seems completely the wrong time of year to be talking about sand and surf. I mean, we are heading into Autumn after all! But, quite honestly, I don’t think this table topic ever goes out of favour (or style) and is relevant at absolutely anytime. Especially as soo many of us are snowbirds anyway and spend our entire life chasing the swell of the ocean and the calm of the beach (my romanticised way of saying, ‘the warm weather!’ :) ) that we end up dodging Winter entirely. Pretty clever don’t you agree :)

Anyhoo, getting back to nature is what these ocean faring tables all have in common. Oh, well, that and blue! Loads of blue … turquoise blue; midnight blue; navy blue. Pastel blue; aqua blue and my personal favourite, sapphire blue (Mm, wonder why :) ) Yeees! All shades of the over 70 types of blue hue! (Truly! Why there is also a Yale Blue. Do you suppose that colour is frightfully preppy and talks with a plum in the mouth :) )

The beach theme always invites a light natural approach and variations of an azure tablecloth are almost a given. That, along with ornamental driftwood and rope which are all almost a given as well :)

Stepping outside the square of the expected, succulents look amazing with this tablescape and I have also seen the simple posy used with stunning effects. I always love a pop of pink against this relaxing tone, but as mother nature shows us over and over, nearly any colour is going to compliment a seaside true-blue theme.

Tinerate, dressed up or merely casually composed, a seaside inspired tablescape is always appropriate.

Till next time.
