Wake to the Weekend!

The best thing about the work week is the weekend. Or at least, the planning for the weekend. That’s what I always thought (and still do!)

Soo much energy goes into what ‘to do’ and just as much, or if you are like me, more goes in to the how to do it! That’s how I’ve always been, especially with diningscapes.

It is not at all unusual for me to begin daydreaming and the planning of a party A-G-E-S in advance, especially if it is something a little unusual and not just the run of the mill DP. Although, (having a quick reflection moment), the run of the mill DP can often be the bigger challenge as there are soo many of them and soo many talented hostesses out there, all doing their mostest, that to make a party exciting, different and memorable requires a ton of savoir faire and many many hours of research pouring over Pinterest and fan-gramming on Instagram. All that and then some creativity to set it apart from the pack.

I know, sounds like so much work and completely exhausting doesn’t it? :)

Well…No, actually. Not to me! I’ll happily spend the whole week (or, as established, whatever it takes) planning the tablescape and dining room decor. The guest list for me is easy and fun, and usually done already at some prior function as the result of someone’s brilliant suggestion and a persuasive few wines :)

IMG_4612As for the food, let’s just say that I excel at catering :) Although, when AP is in town, then it is all about superior gourmet feasting. I am not sure if I have mentioned this before but AP is an excellent cook, maybe even deserving of the role of chef??? Mmm, thinking…thinking…Anyone??? Anyhoo, it’s absolutely fab for me as we work as a great team when entertaining. His domain is the kitchen and mine…well, you get it :)

IMG_4616Anyhoo, the inspiration for today’s post (and the reason I just rambled in the preamble :) ) is that I came across this clever brunch idea in Instyle Magazine and loved the laid back casualness so much I had to feature it. I’m thinking it would work brilliantly down at the coast or in the snow. Maybe even a throw-together for New Years Day??? Mmm…All sorts of possibilities :)

IMG_4633 Tinerate, brunch, in my opinion, is a toughie to put a unique spin on which is why I think I was drawn so much to this. Presented ‘by L.A. chef, Alvin Cailan of the cult-sensation food truck Eggslut,’ eggslut.com, every detail has been anticipated and presented in a charming theme that embraces the sunny-side of the morning meal.

Till next time.
