The Art of L’Aperitif

I don’t know about you, but I love a glass of champagne to celebrate, hmm, well, just about any occasion! Before she moved overseas, good friend, EA and I once often had a glass to commemorate the fact that it was Tuesday :) And then there is always the simple reason of ‘just because…’ Personally that one is my favourite. No explanations. No justifications. No judgement. No nothing…doing it cos I can :)  (And also because, as I know I have mentioned to you before, I am a big one for living in the moment! Not good if it happens to be an AFD but…Oy Vey…can always muster up another of those :) )

Anyhoo, AP and I love to jazz our champers aperitif up a bit and are big on adding a dash of St Germain to the mix…delish but dangerous cos suddenly it goes down like cordial. Oh wait! That’s what the cocktail is called Stateside…Oy Vey, the southern hemisphere will get that I am referring to a kids drink. Honestly, we all speak the Queen’s tongue but our language is literally oceans apart :)

Tinerate, I guess, in all honesty, champagne slides down smoothly any time leaving a lovely wake of feel good bubbles and joviality and is not so much of a sippy drink (unless of course one is French and has mastered the sip skill. I have a friend, BB, who is a very cosmopolitan Parisian and honestly, she can make her wine last for hours longer than any Australian I know (or any other country for the matter!) It’s a bit like how the French dress I think, just a refinement in their genes and long bred into the culture.

Back to point though, (yes, there is one :) ) …included in the packaging of our latest bottle of St Germain was the most sophisticated promo that impressed me so much (right down to instructing it be served ‘always over medium-sized ice cubes made from the highest quality water, of course’) I wanted to share. In a way, it’s a guest post as a nod to the savvy marketing of the company.

And remember…

…Balance may be difficult in life,

but it is imperative in an aperitif…

So what doo you think? Is it just me or is this promo Spectacular and have you too excited for Happy Hour and a taste of this delicious concoction?

Till next time.
