Magical Musings

So yet another milestone celebration has sauntered up to surprise. What is it with time galloping on as it does??? Not only do we barely finish rejoicing over one occasion but whoa, we are popping the champagne and on to the next with barely a moment to digest. Maybe I am just taking the whole mindfulness concept to the extreme with too much happy-living in the moment going on which, in turn, lulls into the whole illusion of thinking I have tons of time because right now all that is important is this minute, when in actuality, I don’t! (Phew, does that make any sense at all???)

Hmm, not sure I am even buying my own lengthy explanation but thats the best I can do right now :)

Anyhoo, one of my favourite times of the year (yes, another one) is now upon us…the dawning of the new year.

This is an exceptional time filled with the promise of new beginnings and the closure of old chapters. A time of resolutions and even some soul searching. A time of magical musings and unchecked possibility.

They take the hits so we may play…how lucky and privileged are we! (And yes, a little nervous approaching these four to ask for a photo – it was the guns :) – but they couldn’t have been more obliging. Thanks lads!)

There are some wonderful traditions associated with the breaking of the new year; the bonfire which I talked about last year, (Sip & Sparkle), still being amongst my favourites. Another though would be the watching of the fireworks around the world and, sometimes even the ball drop in Times Square (on the telly though! Could think of nothing worse than being a part of the people sandwich that makes up the crowd for that event.) Although, having said that, friends WG & AG, did it smart and managed to reserve seats in a nearby restaurant with a view of the ball. They could eat, drink and watch the floor show all from the heated comfort of the restaurant with a front row prime view of the crystal ball crashing to the ground. Now I would d-e-f-i-n-a-t-e-l-y do America’s most traditional new year experience that way :)

Anyhoo, wishing to all a happy, healthy and safe 2017. May it be filled with love and joy, and iced in the abundance of good fortune…(and a glinting wash of gold in your glassware :) )

Till next time.
