Are you like me? Rhetorical question I know…

Anyhoo, what I mean is when you go for that annual to the dentist, doctor, dermatologist – or whatever – you savour the time in the waiting room for the read of the ‘popular’ magazines. You know, the kind of mag that normally accompanies the desire to wrap it in something intelligent, like a corporate annual statement, before clasping between the fingers. Especially in public!

Well, that’s me to date only this time I went a little more upmarket…Thank goodness I did cos I found the most fascinating article on a dinner party. And the host. In short, hats off to Anthony Todd!

And just who is Anthony Todd – or as described in the magazine article, the bon vivant – you might ask??? Okay, you are not going to be querying that if in the events planning or design world, but for the rest of us who are just gently bumping along, let me explain…

Aussie born; however, world-wide lived, Anthony is a fabulous designer known for his fondness of the use of all things oversize (oh my…and how the mind  does tempt to wander. Focus!)

Tinerate, I was really taken with all things Todd, but especially so with his idea of giving each dinner party guest their own carafe. Yes…one for each and every able body. How fab is that???

I’d never heard of this before, let alone thought it! Soo much better than a table full of bottles racked up as centrepiece. It’s chic and sophisticated and no asking ‘would you mind passing the wine please!’ I suppose the carafe could be swapped out with individual bottles at each place setting but even if all the same label, that will not look elegant. Besides, how to handle the consummate  snobs? Can’t imagine they would want a bottle…’it needs to breathe. I will need to decant the wine. I need a carafe?‘

Anyhoo, I think its astoundingly brilliant. And to think, if desired, after the second glass, any drinkable wine might be used – not that I ever imagine Mr Todd would be tempted to use anything other than the best!
