I don’t know why it is, but I never think of doing a plain white and red tablescape.

Okay…on quick reflection, that statement may not be entirely correct; perhaps at Christmas time…but that’s it! Mmm, thinking…thinking…

But quite honestly, it is not a colour combo that instantly jumps to mind (well, mine at least!) I’m more apt to be drawn to the pinks and oranges if considering that curve of the colour spectrum.

Anyhoo, red and white is simple smart chic and can be very dramatic!

There are so many props that are available in these hues that the mind just boggles …

…berries and lillys…

…roses and candles…

…gingham and calico… (and Yes! They are ants )

Or, and I am liking this a lot, it can just be dressed like a Golden Age of Hollywood superstar…Inspiration: Veronica Lake a la 1941. Red dress. Red lips. Black shoes. Against her white skin…Translation: White tablecloth, Red plates, Red serviettes. Black stem glasses.
