The last few days have been ones of challenges, and not the least being to stay warm!

I have always been a little Frigidaire, struggling to remain roasty as I wandered around the house in my woolen jumper on a 35 degree day (and that would be centigrade!) Sandals day at school a chilly option unless the temperature peaked into the lava-melt-me-in-a-moment range. Consequently, I quickly became familiar with the spencer (remember that relic ), long-johns, bed socks, Ugg boots, beanies and parkas. (And, just an aside, sooo understand it was definitely not my greatest fashion moments but I was always toasty
)
Not much has changed. Although I did have a brief period when I worried about Hat Hair and looking glam but a few days of blizzard and snow whilst living in Boston put a quick end to that! In fact, MA weather even got me acquainted with the puffer and embracing the Pillsbury Boy look. (Mmm, do we have Pillsbury in Australia or is that a throwback to my years in the States??? Mmm, thinking…thinking…)

Anyhoo, doing Cosy Cold and thus being of the curl-up-in-front-of-the-fire ilk whenever comfort beckons, I am a big one for Afternoon Tea, especially when served in the raw of winter weather with all the delightful trimmings. A background of a roaring fire doesn’t hurt either

The brilliant British tradition of jam, cream and scones is a decadent stand out must-do-at-every-chance for me. Set stage with the backdrop of a raging live warmth and I am sure to outstay my welcome
And when its just me for tea, the ritual on a wintersday, becomes a mindful moment and an occasion for reflection and sorting. Maybe even a sneak mini moment of relaxation

Tinerate, Happy Winter and Stay Warm!
Till next time.
