Curled up on the couch, the sun licking at my ankles, I spent a lazy few hours frolicking through the inspiring pages of Veranda (another favourite magazine ) featuring all things delightfully summery.

As always, between the covers was a compilation of wonderfully fascinating articles but I have to be completely honest, today it is the photos that have really captured my imagination. I just love them! Is it weird to derive/experience a state of total contentment from some artfully styled glossy pics? I don’t know!

Anyhoo, this read round, I was so completely relaxed that it was easy to daydream … Soo, plucking from nostalgic Hollywood, “from here on in I have decided that I am not going to do anything,“ (yes, anything at all!) “that isn’t entirely lovely”

This famous quote from Audrey Hepburn (bit of a style cum fan crush on that swoon worthy famous Hollywood icon. And, just an aside, to have a face … a talent … a waist!!! like that … Yes Please! ) Oh, and Natalie Wood; now there’s another larger than life talented star …

Anyhoo, back to point, this famous line literally popped into my head when I finally decided that life should really be just like the pictures in the magazine; all about long lunches on warm summer days surrounded by fabulous friends. Decadent I know, but so worth aspiring to

Can’t you imagine the lazy hours spent languidly wafting over a table trimmed with a chic carefree abandon of the season? The menu consisting of fresh handpicked food and the wines sourced from the local winery …

A tuneful melody of laughter would fill the sweet smelling summer air; a gay accompaniment to the tinkle of crystal. Time would be of no consequence. Commitments? This is it!

Sigh … all to blue skies, sun shining, bird chirping for the everyday maybe but at least reality doesn’t rob of the opportunity to enjoy these fabulous settings … nor the season!
