Blissed Out in Paradise!

I have got to share with you the most amazing 36 hours I was lucky enough to indulge in just recently. Suffice to say that, ever since, I have been literally walking on air with animated butterflies fluttering against my face and technicolour flowers strewn at my feet. You see, I was fortunate enough to whiz off to Sydney with eleven of the most beautiful ladies imaginable for my gorgeous niece’s, SC, Last Hurrah!

She is being married in a few weeks and her fabulous BM’s (TD, RT, NB, KP ) organised the most spectacular send off a girl could ever wish for!

SC love love loves Sydney so the venue was set in stone…

The savvy style standard was set by the glamorous group of girls who gathered at gate 24 waiting to board QF 740, and the tone for the lavishly sophisticated affair cemented by the limo that was at the airport to collect us.

But wait! There’s more…

We were chauffeured to the pristine and pruned Botanical Gardens and across the threshold of reality, unknowingly falling through a silver lined portal into a magical wonderland of everything bright bubbly and breezy. I had definitely made a soft landing though…gently tumbling into a glorious world of cloudless sapphire skies, clusters of vibrant fauna, rolling green lawns and, (the jewel on the crown :) ), glimpses of the harbour with the aqua ocean glittering in the sunlight as if sprinkled with diamonds.

The whole stage already so perfect was heightened by the sheer intensity of love and affectionate energy that flowed between this special group of women towards my niece.

Beneath an ancient gum tree offering a marquee of shade was set the most fabulous picnic. And all spread out on a red and white rug (didn’t I just post about white and red??? I really have to stop getting away from myself :) )

Anyhoo, we lounged on our gold sparkly cushions nibbling at the wonderful treats and sipping on any array of scrumptious liquids, all the colours of candy and almost too pretty to consume. Almost! It was hot and a girls not a camel :)

We even had fans to stave off the encroaching afternoon heat and the essential survival pack for the next morning!

Tinerate, when we were just about picnicked out we rolled back to the hotel with the most magnificent views of Sydney imaginable, for party and games. And then…ah, no!…What happens in Sydney stays in Sydney; or is that Vegas? :) Mmm, thinking…thinking…

So, the next highlight of this bewitching extravaganza  was dinner at the, down-the-lane, extremely on trend Mr Wong. I have no idea how these very clever BM’s secured a reservation but we were hustled past the velvet purple rope and inside its rustic wooden interiors. Okay, so there was no Soho 70’s retro VIP rope but there was certainly a very strict maitre d’ checking off reservations and I did see two unfortunate blokes turned away!

Needless to say, dinner was D-E-L-I-C-I-O-U-S and the exotic coffee martinis added to the New York vibe.

Anyhoo, and, Ooo, I just might be gushing here but…these few hours of total bliss in paradise was the most intensely magnificent attestment to the long standing friendship of these lovely women and I feel soo privileged to have been included. Thank you to all the beautiful ladies. Shall see you at the wedding :)

Till next time.
