Wild & Woolly!

There is something simply wonderful about wild and woolly weather when at the beach.

The whole concept of chilling wind and peltering rain seems in complete contrast to the more popular associations of sun, sand and surf…almost an oxymoron…but, even so, I am quickly finding out it is the clime that is fast tracking to be a popular holiday favourite for much of the populace.

I definitely see the attraction! Swirling oceans with crashing high tide waves thundering against the rocks. Miles of white sand deserted beaches for lazy thoughtful strolling. Views of menacing skies highlighted with the intermittent lightening bolt enjoyed from the comfort of indoors whilst curled up in the stressless recliner, a warming glass of red at the ready. It’s all very intoxicating and transfixing.

IMG_3060 To me, that (the frigid with associated glory of storm and squalor) is a big part of the lure and charm. The exact duplicate weather may be happening in the City however it is never experienced in the same personal real way as when Mother Nature turns it on by the ocean shore…when the sky is so gunmetal grey that it is almost impossible to distinguish the horizon from the distant sea.
