Beautiful One Day, Perfect the Next

Remember that slogan? Iconic and, even before Barack Obama hauled it back into fashion again in 2014, still very apt. And, aah, well ruh-eelly, there is nothing more to say…almost :)

So early in the week I took the two hour flight (on which I ate far too much but that’s okay because you can’t gain weight on planes; it’s an altitude thing :) ) up to the Sunshine Coast for a little bit of sun, splash and surf. And, although only here a few days, I have already settled in like a local and made my presence known. (So didn’t mean to do the latter! Who knew the a/c was adjusted to heat :) Oy Vey…)

Anyhoo, I have been out and about acclimating myself with beautiful-one-day-perfect-the-next bit of Queensland, Mooloolabah, and in the process, couldn’t help but wonder why it is when one is in a different environ to the norm, that the shopping suddenly becomes a lot more alluring?

The shoe boutique hurried past in a home town (errands to be done or not) suddenly becomes of great interest and worthy of a couple of hours wiled away trying on sandal after wedge after heel and then most often walking out with not even a single purchase … (because no matter where I am, I am still a Libra incapable of making a decision until absolutely have to!) … although sometimes there is the one lucky pair tucked under the arm. Tinerate, there is always the promise of I’ll be back! (didn’t someone else say those exact same words :) )

Or there is the pro shopper who will also try on maxi after ballet-flat after shift but she knows her self and her style so doesn’t waste precious time with the things the are just not right, or with coming back on the morrow. After all, there is a whole world of retail out there to be conquered :) Instead she slips into the lot with stunning results and purchases the whole kit and caboodle.

Anyhoo, I mean it’s not like I’ve morphed into some divine model all six foot with long flowing locks whilst walking the airbridge (how brilliant though to be that tall. Would simply never have to use the step ladder ever again to reach the kitchen cupboards :) )

And I am not just talking fashion…call me a tragic but today I got completely seduced by the rows and rows of avocados. And then there were the mangoes…the seafood… Just had to bring it all home :)

Am off to explore some more of Mooloolaba …

Till next time.
