I can hardly believe that I have only a few short days left in the balmy beauty of Queensland! ( I just cannot be old enough for time to fly that quickly ) So on the whim of being an adventurous explorer and, believe me, with all the ridiculous-two-lanes-changing-to-one-lane-without-warning roundabouts that they have in this state, it was definitely an adventure
I rented a car and beetled the half hour north to Noosa Heads.
Sooo glad I did!
Once over the trauma of parking; the few all-day spots require the selling of the soul and I was too late anyway so I had to settle for a three hour spot which turns out was a rock star car park. Most of them being a mere two hours…Tell me, who can shop, lunch and do cocktails in only two wee hours
Tinerate, one of the gorgeous assistants in a store down the Designer Den end of Hastings street (had absolutely no clue that this is what the National Park end of the already veddy swish main drag is referred to by locals. And it’s just that little exclusive pocket to the right of the approaching curve) told me that she always chants, ‘Holy Mother of Grace, please find me a parking space.’ Mmm, think I’ve got that right but not sure??? Anyone…??? Point is though, she assures me it works. And it probably does if I could just get the words right
It was a divinely sunny day when I visited with a slight breeze to keep a girl cool as she rushed from one gorgeous find to the next…
The ‘feel’ when wandering the boulevard in cosi and tied-around-the-ankle-in-on-trend-to-die-for espadrilles is up-market relaxed, and sophistication simply abounds in the seaside haven.
(In all shapes and forms )
A very cosmopolitan crowd from all over the world decorate the dining tables that sprawl to the outside from the many chi chi dining establishments. Some of these wonderful eateries even have beachfront access (surf and turf gazing at the turf in the surf ) like Bistro C, which, just an aside, serves heavenly delicious calamari. Truth be told, the whole menu was completely mouthwatering and making a choice, almost impossible
I was fascinated with the energy in this pocket paradise. Despite all the people, very calming but also invigorating (the latter, I’m guessing, due to the sea.) And I just loved loved loved the pops of pretty I stumbled upon absolutely everywhere!
Anyhoo, it has been about 12 years since I was last here; I know I certainly don’t plan to leave it that long until my next visit. How about you???
Till next time.
Tipsy Pipsy xo
Wish I was there with you
Then we would have needed that all-day car park
