Presidential Pizzazz!

Now, quite seriously, you would have to be buried beneath a rock with your head in the sand experiencing a complete black out of all things technical or electrical to NOT be aware of the recent presidential inauguration. And what a transfer of power it is playing out to be!

A country divided is what the word on the street is. But then, there is also a significant discussion about ‘giving the guy a chance. Let’s see what he does; after all he is now president,’ as one would expect. I mean, after all, he was elected by the vote of the democratic republic.

Tinerate, when Mr Donald J Trump was sworn in as America’s 45th President, I got caught up in all the pomp, ceremony and circumstance. Whilst it is not of the magnitude of the Brits, let alone any of the European Royals, the transfer of power was full of wonderful tradition.

Traditions that have stood almost since the beginning of time, like the riding together of the Presdent Elect with the outgoing President to the swearing in. Can you imagine being a fly on the wall of that limousine ride? :) And when such formalities are ever questioned, the answer is ‘because that’s how we do it!’ Apparently the Secret Service are very quick to point this out should anyone or anything try to break with tradition. Just love it!

Watching it on the telly, I especially couldn’t help but wonder about all the glitz and glamour that occurs inside the White House walls. But particularly so, the regale banquets put on for visiting dignitaries and all things of State Affairs. Ooo, what I wouldn’t give to score a ticket to even just five minutes of one of those events for a quick sneak peek :)

Anyhoo, and then just one day after complete media saturation of the Trump inauguration, we are drenched with the Walk for Women protest march taking place not only in Washington but New York … (in which I got caught up in. Note to self, don’t even think to try to criss-cross the street; polite ‘scuzzies only get one so far!) … London …(where friends marched with their five year old daughter chanting the whole way, ‘we march we march we march. Why can’t we go to a warm cafe and have some lunch? :) ) …and the whole world over.

So for the last few days all things political have been monopolising the local news (and most probably where you are too? Anyone???…) plus Twitter and most other social platforms. Really can’t see it slowing down anytime soon but then, would we want to be left out of the loop like that? :)

Till next time.
