Gorgeous! Only Faster!

Dear Lovers, I just saw a shooting star! Sparkle together forever đź’—

… It was a crisp winter night, the frost was on our breath but the lights of the city and the tap of the texts were enough to entice me away from the warmth of the open fire … Downtown was alive with celebration and the atmosphere magical; all the ingredients for what was to come, served up to entice. Walking into the pulsing beat that was the Botanic, I was drawn to the raven haired beauty owning the room. We locked eyes and in that twinkling wink, I was gone … đź’•đź’•đź’•đź’•đź’•

In keeping with the romance bandwagon I have recently been riding, today I am dedicating the post to my nephew, JT, and AC, my new niece-in-law who tied the knot on Saturday (and no, I didn’t make that title up; It’s legit according to my all-knowing friend Google. And just an aside, can’t wait till I get the complete know-it-all, Alexa, and I can just issue voice commands that will be answered with G’s substance and accuracy minus the hesitations of Siri :) )

But back to the nuptials … Soo exciting! He’s the second of the next-gen brood to get married and although this significant step in his life is a nasty reminder that time is tootling on and I’m not getting any younger (cos it’s all about me :) ), it is thrilling to see ‘the kids’ settling down. And, just to clarify, I’m actually okay with raging ageing :)

Anyhoo, it was a day of graceful beauty and elegance, with a stylish nod to the wistfully traditional. From the Monastery in which they married to the Adelaide Town Hall where the Reception was held, it was all just absolutely stunning. Many a times, as the day unfolded, I caught myself comparing it to the best Hollywood scene that was never planned. I certainly oftentimes felt as if I had stumbled on to a set straight out of the the Golden Years of entertainment, so glamorous was the setting! (And yes, knowing I’m a TCM tragic, I was consequently totally tripping all over myself with excitement :) )

Let me try to portray with all the sincerity this really spectacular day warrants, some especially memorable moments …

The double doors of the church swung open and suddenly a vision of bridal slipper satin stood at the threshold. Backlit by the soft sun of late summer with her antique veil billowing out behind her, she was absolutely breathtaking in her ethereal  beauty.

(And, just an aside, I always love to watch the groom watch his future wife walk the red carpet towards him. The smile of pure joy is like no other and the  absolute unadulterated love between the couple is enough to light up a galaxy :) )

Tinerate, from the groomsmen in swoons-worthy black ties (and of course the groom :) ), the bridesmaids in twinkling shimmer to the brides flowing gown there was loads of glamour and vintage vault moments. Oh, and then, of course, the reception …  where to start??? :)

On arrival we were guided up a sweeping marble staircase decorated with imposing gilt mirrors, all the time serenaded by a string band (just soo dreamy :) ) and swept into the Grand Hall. Inside, five long tables were set with very effective on-trend stylish simplicity. All this already and then add off-the-charts-explosive-impact for a backdrop … Uh huh, none other than a grand-scale-larger-than-life organ set high on a stage! It is probably the most spectacular backdrop I have ever seen! Well, most certainly for a wedding! It’s floor to ceiling height literally towering over the dancers and dwarfing us all.

Soo many more highlights and such a happy day filled with wonderful moments I could literally go on forever …  Instead, Thank You next-gen Mr & Mrs T for allowing us to share in your special day.

Ooo, so much love đź’ž Oh, and donuts! Always chocolate donuts :)

Till next time.
