Chasing Shadows!

Have you ever come across something – anything – in which you have had an instance in that you want to replicate that same thing, be it an experience, person or tabletop :)

I have this happening to me all too frequently and despite the constant self reminders to take photos to prompt the memory and capture the details I, well…need I say more??? :) So I am often reduced to winging it and, sometimes, poetic license.

Anyhoo, Christmas time with its fabulous array (and abundance :) ) of incredibly creative ideas is one of these times when I feel like I am constantly chasing the shadow of an idea either I have had or I’ve seen somewhere (soo many things whirling through the mind that things will muddle and merge :) )

Failure to remember exact detail is not a biggie though; all that’s needed is an inspiration and the rest takes care of itself. Oh, okay…maybe with a tweak here and there and a fair dosage of trial and error but nevertheless, somewhere somehow it all pulls together.

…simple, elegant and overwhelmingly timeless. As a generalised crowd-pleaser, one really can’t ask for more than those elements. Talking of which, the use of blooms can be a very effective way to create a stunning no fuss sophistication ambience also.

The very best thing about this mood is that it works for most scenarios, is always in fashion and no-one ever tires of simplicity, elegance or timelessness :)

Anyhoo, it’s only a few hours now until Father Christmas makes his rounds, (too exciting that it is that wonderful wonderful wonderful time of the year again!!!) and although I haven’t finalised everything quite yet, I am definitely on track. How about you??? :)
