Beach Bumming

With temperatures sizzling and all the talk of the oppressive heat that is currently happening in my home town of Adelaide, my mind keeps drifting to sunny skies and aqua blue seas so, today whilst I sip my afternoon tea, I am taking a bit of a couch holiday. I have decided to join the beach bumming masses and have flitted to warm balmy shores (well, it is a snowy white winterland outside my window in the mountains of Vermont and even though it is very pretty, it is soo soo cold :) )

So I’ve bought myself an aeroplane ticket (Oh, and just to clarify, in my daydream only) which, just an aside, started off being a terribly practical coach seat, mainly because I was on the couch and already comfortable. Needless to say though, (but I am anyway :) ) that didn’t last long as the imagination kicked in and started to crave the creature comforts, (especially as this was most probably going to be a long haul trip,) and the next minute I’d decided that if I was going, I was going to fly Business.

Uh huh! Not even a consideration for Premium but a direct upgrade to lie-me-flat-so-I-can-sleep please! The rationale being that I would then arrive at my tropical paradise rested, relaxed and ready to enjoy my mini-vacay.

All well and good until the practical side of my brain started screaming to be heard and demanding that I only fly in such plushness if the ticket was on sale.

A very fortunate thing that this was all a little story being played out inside my head because of course, as soon as I looked; Ta Daa…as if by magic :) there it was: an insanely reasonably priced Business Class fare! Lucky days right :)

AndrearudgeAnyhoo, because I am the author of my own little imaginary flight to the tropics I then wondered, ‘so why don’t I spoil myself completely and travel First Class? You know, in one of those fabulous little mini motel rooms that some of the airlines now have’ (not that I have even seen them let alone been in one but I do know they are out there!) Noo, not buying a ticket (even my imagination couldn’t justify that!) but applying for a FF upgrade. I figured it didn’t ‘cost’ a whole bundle of miles so why not?  And that was enough justification to quieten the voices of reason for the next moment I saw myself ascending the bridge into the very luxurious and seriously pampered pointy part of the plane :)

Aah, all that so, with pretty ease, I could settle into the seasons most languid mode with winsome tables in tender hues…well, if only in my minds eye :)

Till next time.
